Grilled Ham & Cheese

4 slices of texas toast
4 slices yellow american cheese
4 tbsp butter
garlic powder for sprinkling
2 slices provolone cheese
4 slices deli ham
Directions:
Ingredients:
In a large skillet, add the 1 tbsp butter. Melt it on high heat and then lower it to medium.
Get 2 slices of ham and fold in half. I like to measure it on the break to see how big to fold it.
Then place it in the pan. Do the same for the next two. You are looking to fry both sides, this will help it first not be cold in the center, and 2nd give it a nice flavor. When they are heated about a minute each side, place on a plate and set aside.
Next, melt 2 tbsp butter in the same pan
On the first slice of bread sprinkle garlic powder on one side and place that side down in the pan. Then get the first 2 slices of ham and place on top of the bread. Do the same with the other bread. do not cover with the 3rd and 4th slice yet. Next put a slice of american cheese, and then the slice of provolone cheese, followed by another slice of american.
Now you can put the other side of the bread on, and yes sprinkle more garlic powder over that other slice. Do the same again for the other sandwich.
Be careful to watch your heat, at this point you should have it on medium at the highest. You need to toast both sides of the sandwich, adding butter as needed.
If both sides of the sandwich brown before the cheese is melted (very common) you can put it in the oven and melt the cheese that way. Or Remove the pan from the heat, and cover it.
Slice in half and enjoy!
